WHAT IS LDS?
BlueTraker LDS is an integrated weighing and electronic reporting solution designed to support catch declaration processes at the point of first landing, in line with the requirements introduced by Regulation (EU) 2023/2842.
LDS connects verified weighing, landing declarations, lot identification, crate tagging and transport documentation in one streamlined digital workflow.
The LDS ecosystem consists of two core components:
- The Landing Declaration Kiosk (LDK) – an on-site weighing and reporting station installed in fishing ports and points of first landing.
- The Landing Data Cloud (LDC) – a secure, cloud-based platform for data management.
Through integration with the competent authority’s Fisheries Information System (FIS), vessel, fishing-trip and electronic logbook data can be retrieved and reused, reducing manual data entry and improving data consistency.
The LDS brings accurate, paperless and traceable first-landing reporting directly to fishing ports and remote landing sites, supporting compliance with the EU fisheries control framework.
HOW LDS WORKS?
At the point of first landing, fishermen use the Landing Declaration Kiosk (LDK) to securely identify themselves and select the relevant fishing trip retrieved from the authority’s FIS. The catch is weighed on an integrated, type-approved Class III weighing instrument, creating digitally linked weighing evidence. Available fishing-trip and electronic logbook data is used to pre-fill the Landing Declaration, while the fisherman enters only the remaining landing information.
The LDS then supports electronic submission of the Landing Declaration, generation of Source Lot and crate identifiers with QR-enabled tags, and creation of the Transport Document where required. Verified weighing, declaration, lot and transport data is electronically exchanged with the competent authority’s FIS, creating a consistent and auditable digital record of the first-landing process.
