We are pleased to announce that EMA d.o.o. has been awarded the National Gold Award for Innovation 2024 for the BlueSenz sensor family. This family of sensors provides precise monitoring of fishing activities and fishing effort, supporting both fisheries management and scientific research.
The BlueSenz sensor family includes devices designed to attach directly to fishing gear, enabling accurate tracking of fishing operations and 3D visualization of fishing effort. It serves both scientists and fisheries monitoring authorities by providing key data, such as:
- The exact start and end times and locations of fishing operations,
- Detailed information on the type of fishing gear used,
- Depth data recorded during fishing activities.
The BlueSenz product line includes two specialized sensors:
- NetSenz – This sensor attaches directly to fishing gear, such as various types of nets and auxiliary tools. It captures precise start and end positions and times, and logs the time-depth profile that the net passes through.
- GearSenz – Typically mounted on the winch, this sensor monitors net usage by counting the number of rotations and direction of the winch drum. It helps determine when the net is deployed into the sea or retrieved.
By enabling real-time monitoring of fishing activities, BlueSenz assists regulatory authorities in managing marine resources more effectively, promoting sustainable fishing practices.
