BlueTraker is bringing BlueSenz technology to Argentine waters. The BlueSenz Discovery Kit is now operating aboard an industrial trawler, monitoring fishing gear and measuring fishing effort during daily commercial operations.
Two complementary sensors capture the key data. NetSenz, installed on a trawl door, measures fishing gear depth. GearSenz, mounted on a winch, tracks gear deployment and retrieval. The BlueTraker VMS transponder and ConBox 2023 LCD connect gear monitoring with vessel tracking.
The first operational data gives a clear picture of when, where and at what depth fishing takes place. Gear movements, time in the water and vessel positions enable fishing effort measurement. These measurements are combined into heatmaps showing where fishing effort is concentrated. For fisheries authorities, this means clearer oversight, more targeted compliance checks and better information for fisheries management.
With this deployment, BlueTraker delivers practical insight from everyday fishing operations to support more effective and sustainable fisheries management.
